6th Grade Drop In Program Purpose

6th Grade Drop In provides a safe environment & commitment free opportunity for 6th grade students to build positive relationships with one another after school by taking part in a variety of supervised social and recreational activities. It provides a chance for 6th graders to get comfortable with everything happening at The Bridge without older students.

What are the Perks of Taking Part in 6th Grade Drop In?

6th grade students have the freedom to come and go on any program day with no commitment.
6th graders get time to enjoy The Bridge without older students.
Students have the freedom to take part in a lot of different games or activities and build positive relationships with many other students & positive adult volunteers.
Students become familiar with everything that The Bridge Youth Center has to offer & learn of other ways to become a valuable part of our community.
All 6th Graders signed up for 6th Grade Drop In are automatically signed up for Drop In on each Tuesday and Thursday throughout the school year.

What Happens Each Program Day?

6th grade students are welcome to come at any time once the program opens & check their items in for safe keeping.
They then have the freedom to hang out, grab a bite to eat and take part in a number of fun activities, such as playing sports in the gym, board games, video games, pool, ping pong, or air hockey.
A variety of structured and unstructured activities are provided to take part in throughout the afternoon.

What is the Program’s Schedule?

6th Grade Drop In take place on specific Wednesdays during the school year. Click the link below to see this year’s dates.
It happens from the time school gets done until 5.
As is true for all Bridge programming during the school year, the program meets only on days when school is in session.

Health Waiver

To ensure that we are keeping all individuals involved in our programs safe and healthy, The Bridge is requiring all parents and students to commit to the following health & wellness protocols and to agree to allow The Bridge to safely monitor everyone’s health before and during each program day. The Bridge is following all orders and guidelines laid out by local, state, and federal authorities. A full list of policies and procedures, based on these guidelines, will be followed & are available at your request, and we will communicate more specific information and instructions as needed.

By signing this document, you agree to the following:

- I will monitor the health of my child regularly to ensure they are staying healthy enough to participate in programs. I will monitor for the following symptoms: ▪ A fever of 100.4 or higher ▪ Cough ▪ Chills ▪ Shortness of Breath or Difficulty Breathing ▪ Sore Throat ▪ New Loss of Taste or Smell ▪ Gastrointestinal Issues - I will communicate with The Bridge as soon as possible with any concerning symptoms to determine if my child can be allowed to participate in programming they are signed up for. - I will ensure that if my child is in 6th grade and attending programming or in any grade and riding one of our buses, will come prepared with a mask.

What you can expect from The Bridge

- We will ensure that all staff and volunteers interacting with students wear masks. - We will strongly encourage all students to wear masks and provide masks for those who don’t bring them. - We will alert parents of any concerning symptoms, including parents of students who have been in contact with a student who presents symptoms or tests positive for COVID-19. - We will strictly adhere, to the best of our ability, all health, sanitation, and social distancing guidelines that are recommended or ordered.

By checking this box and signing this agreement, you agree to the expectations and permission listed in this health waiver. This agreement is in place until the beginning of the following program year. The terms of this agreement may change based on updated health recommendations and orders.
