The Building Bridges Together Program Purpose

Building Bridges Together provides a way for students to experience different countries and cultures from around the world right here at The Bridge. We partner with Empowering Youth Global Connection (EYGC) to celebrate these cultures. Students experience world foods, languages, and activities, learning that although we are all different, we share many things in common and are all God’s children.

What are the Perks of Being in Building Bridges Together?

Students get to be in a safe place with caring adults where they can broaden their worldview.

Students learn to respectfully approach various cultures as global citizens.

Students experience different world foods, languages, and activities.

What Happens Each Program Day?

Students come to The Bridge after school to enjoy snacks and hang out.

Students then spend focused time experiencing a specific culture by practicing a respectful greeting, learning fun facts, sampling some favorite foods, and playing a few games.

Students interact with community members who grew up or lived in a specific country or culture.

What is the Program’s Schedule?

Building Bridges Together begins in October and continues through May.

The program meets on scheduled Fridays and starts when students get done with school.

As is true for all Bridge Youth Center programming during the school year, the program only meets on days when school is in session.
