The It’s Amazing Program Purpose

It’s Amazing provides students a chance to build stronger relationships with one another and those in our greater community and to engage in deeper discussions regarding the Christian faith and its role in our daily lives.

What are the Perks of Being in It’s Amazing?

Students build deep, consistent relationships with a small group of peers and caring volunteers.

Students eat a meal together weekly and regularly go on fun outings out in the community.

Students get a safe, supportive place to explore topics of faith and issues important to them.

What Happens Each Program Day?

Students start each program day with a meal together, often times eating with local church congregations.

Students then either split into smaller groups to take part in visits with older community members and/or engage in team building activities, including going on monthly fun community outings.

Most weeks the groups re-connect at The Bridge for the last part of the program time to do some Bible study and take part in small group discussions.

It’s Amazing will begin the first week of October and runs until spring break.

The program meets on Wednesday evenings from 5:00-7:00.

During the school year, this program only meets on days when school is in session for a full day.

“It's Amazing has been so amazing to be a part of for the last few years. Some of my favorite parts about the program are the relationships you build with your peers and community. One of the activities The Bridge Youth Center held was Visits. This included going to nursing homes and community member’s houses. The people I visited with my group made a lifelong impact on me. Another activity I enjoyed doing was community service. We would go to Harvest Stand and other food pantries to help pack Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for the people in the community that couldn't afford the holiday meals. Doing this helped me realize how good it feels to give back. Even as a student attending The Bridge, I was able to observe the other students grow just by giving back.”
